fara'id according to the Sunni Muslims
According to Sunni Muslims the Qur'anic command of wudu
comes in the sixth verse of surah 5. The verse has been translated by Abdullah
Yusuf Ali, Pickthal and Maulana Muhammad Ali as follows. Note that these
academics refers to the translation of washing the feet.
Oh you who believe! When they prepare you for prayer, wash
your face and hands (and arms) up to your elbows; Rub the head (with water),
and (wash) the feet up to the ankles. If you are in a state of ceremonial
impurity, bathe the whole body. But if you are sick, or on a trip, or one of
you comes from the nature offices, or you have been in contact with the women
and you can not find water, then take
the clean sand or the dirt by themselves, and rub with her
face and hands, God, do not practice you want to place in a difficulty, but to
be cleansed, and to complete your favor to you, for you to be grateful.
-Al-Ma' ida, Sura 5, 6 Ayah Wash your face once. Wash both
arms and elbows once.
Realization of Masah of a quarter of the head.
Washing the feet once the up and including the ankles. It is
not enough to run a wet hand over your feet or shoes. Under certain conditions
Masah can be done on leather socks known as khuffs.
Narrated by Abd-Allah ibn Amr: "... we were passing wet
hands on our feet (not washing them thoroughly) so he addressed us aloud,
saying two or three times, in" Keep the heels of the fire . ' "
Narrated by 'Ubaid Ibn Juraij:". ... and that he used
to do the ablution, while wearing the shoes (ie, washing the feet and then
putting on the shoes) "
